The Northville community derives its name from its location in northwest Wayne County. It began in the early 1800's as a small trading center when farming and lumbering were the main occupations. It is distinguished by its rolling topography, characteristics of its glacial origin. Located between Ann Arbor and Detroit, it is well situated for those who prefer to live away from the major cities.
Northville is one of the more affluent communities in Wayne and Oakland Counties. Its residents are well educated and earn above County average. Most students attend the Northville School District rather than private schools, a tribute to the quality of its school system.

It was first settled in 1825, and in 1851 was a stagecoach stop between Detroit and Lansing. In the 1980's, Novi made a rapid transition from a rural residential area to a rapidly developing commerce, industrial and residential community.
Today Novi is a growing and progressive community that covers approximately thirty one square miles. Residents are proud of their excellent school system, outstanding medical services, fine restaurants, parks and recreation facilities. Several shopping malls have made it a destination for residents from the entire Metropolitan Detroit area. A "new" downtown area at Novi Road and Grand River includes popular restaurants, shops and businesses. The area offers a variety of housing to fit almost every lifestyle. It is a truly exciting home town with a growing national and international reputation for innovation and quality.

 The Plymouth community retains its small town charm and colonial flavor while progressing into the 21st century with a thriving residential, commercial and industrial base. The City of Plymouth was founded in 1824, and has managed to maintain the identity envisioned by its founding fathers when they named the village after Plymouth, Massachusetts. The township was organized a few years later.
Located between Ann Arbor and Detroit, it is ideally accessible to some of the area's finest cultural events, health care, entertainment, education and sporting events. It is home to many of the world' hi-tech companies. Downtown Plymouth is home to fine dining, shops and galleries. Kellogg Park, the hub of the city, hosts concerts and festivals year-round and attracts locals and visitors from surrounding areas. It is known for its Historical Museum, Symphony Orchestra and Farmer's Market.
The colonial architecture of Plymouth is exemplified in its public buildings, including City Hall and the public library. Plymouth-Canton's school system's students consistently score higher than the state average on the Michigan Educational Assessment Program and the national average on the Standard Aptitude Test.
